Artist's Note:
I have been going to the beach a lot this summer, and this past weekend which was the last weekend before school went back happened to be particularly alive and buzzing. Looking down from the top of Avenue I in Redondo, the beach was packed with so many colorful and bright umbrellas everywhere we looked. There were families and parties, kids playing along the shore, and groups of teens in little huddles. I was taken by the beautiful contrasting blue and oranges everywhere along the sand and while I wasn't able to take a real photo, this is my mental interpretation of that day at the top of Avenue I.
I painted this painting using regular acrylics and a technique of acrylics that mirrors oil painting in order to get the swirls and blends of all these bright colors.
